What we do

There is always a debate on why people to choose particular things. The choices we take everyday influence us and the people around us in a larger way than we think. These are somethings which I can think of on what makes people make choices, either we

  1. Does this choice lead to our instant gratification i.e. show us short term results ?
  2. Someone or something has influenced you to take this decision
  3. We think the complete thing through and opt for the optimal product which not only solves our problem but as well bring in good results in the future

Short Term Results

People who make a decision based on short term results do it based on what comes as a result of the decision. Their motto will be to judge something based on how useful it is to them.

The decisions taken purely based on the short term results are not always bad, but people should also consider the long term impact of the solution and consider how that decision affects the community around as well.

Influencers

With the advent of social media and the craving for instant gratification, I started to think that these things have become a problem and are changing the behaviour on making decisions. From the recent movie ‘The Social dilemma’ streaming on Netflix, We can understand that we are influenced by a lot to make a particular decision, be it electoral votes or buying a new product. But the art of influencing people has been there for ages

The main mode by which people were influenced before was by TV. It used to be the only source so business men used to fund different telecasting channels to promote their products or candidate. The news media started with paper, radio and tv to earn some money by selling the news that happened, but the media these days are having a lot of money who are trying to influence people for their business customers. Why do people tend to watch an interpretation of news rather the original news ?

One of the major decisive factor on how we make decision these days is by influencers. We tend to watch people say in YouTube who connect to products or the way of life we have. So do we take them to be the experts of all the issues ? Do we buy a product which they influence which is not why you started to follow them ?

Majority of the people these days are driven by the influencers. With the widespread adoption of the internet everyone can create a YouTube video. Now influencers have become a major part of our ecosystem that we try to replicate what they do or infer what they say is right. The media these days is influenced in such a way that what ever we hear of listen is a fake news at majority or is a completely biased one. Don’t we have time for researching for ourselves to understand a problem ?

I think every problem has its own pros and cons. Sometime one outweighs the other. So people have to take the decisions based on the situation to have an effective solution.

A YouTube tech enthusiast should not influence you on some political issues, neither should your neighbor influence you on whom you have to vote.

What does it take for the people to think not only for themselves but for the community as a such and take a decision ?

How can people identify which is fake news and which is not ?

The media has turned from television ads to influencers these days what will be the next wave ?

Effective solution Thinkers

These are people who research the problem and outweighs the solutions based on pros and cons, Their decision will be led based on the situation , adjustment and long term benefits of the solution. The world needs these kind of people to drive for a better tomorrow.

So this does not mean that if you are ought to buy a pen, you need to deep analysis while you can be using the same time in an important task. Not all problems need deeper analysis. We generally need deeper analysis on decisions which effect you and people around you.
