Can I think ?

Digital Privacy has become a myth in the modern days, the tech giants are dominating the applications used by many people these days which are available for free but collect a lot of personal data. They collect the data on what you are sharing and how do you react to certain situations. They have been doing these experiments under the hood.

Now a days the governments want to seize the power from the tech giants as these companies are collecting the data from its own people and are able to dominate them. The governments want to moderate the data which is being present in these social media and want to find the source of spreading the fake news.

How Do we find the source ?

So how do we identify the source ? Does it mean the applications have to break the end-to-end encryption so that they can monitor ? Or Does it mean that they allow application which can share them metadata from which they identify the source ?

The source can not always the person who is forwarding the content. It can be a situation that he/she is motivated by some content online which is already present that motivated him/her to forward as he/she resonates with the content, Or it can be an oral conversation where another person has motivated him/her to forward a message.

If we are considering a situation of breaking the end-to-end encryption to monitor the messages sent/received, Will the people be confident enough to talk to his/her contacts online ? The breakage of the end-to-end encryption mean that the government can monitor everyone’s messages and punish them if they feel it to be disturbing. Will the government restrict itself to preventing the fake news alone ?

The History has suggested that governments get addicted to perform mass surveillance on it own people on the pretext of the safety. While the intention of this started as a good measure to ensure the safety, It soon turned out to be modifying the behaviour of the people for its own cause. Will we be continually monitored and be evaluated by every message we speak to our close ones ?

A new technology of connecting the brain to the internet is underway by Neuralink . With the advent of this new technology which connects all the people’s brain to the internet will be even monitored and evaluated by what we think ? We should be frightened to see a world where the government/tech giants dictate on what we should think.
